A Fashion-Forward Savannah Wedding with Bowie Energy | Savannah Wedding Photographer
Abi and Matt’s wedding felt like Savannah in May at its absolute best—sunny, stylish, and full of personality. Abi, a SCAD fashion alum, brought a sharp creative eye to every part of the day, and Matt matched her energy with humor, confidence, and his own sense of style. Together, they created a wedding that felt more like an art-world gathering than a traditional event.
A First Look at Perry Lane Hotel
Abi and Matt chose to do their first look inside the Perry Lane Hotel library, a space that feels both intimate and cinematic. Abi and her bridal party arrived first so we crushed some mimosas and grabbed a few fun pics before Matt got there. Surrounded by books and soft light, the moment they first saw each other was calm and grounding before the pace of the day picked up. It was one of those pauses that felt intentional—private, emotional, and unfussy. We stopped by the Savannah Theater marquee to grab a few silly ones on the way to the ceremony.
A Sunny Ceremony at Forsyth Park Fountain
Their ceremony took place at the iconic Forsyth Park fountain under the canopy of live oaks and bright blue skies. Friends and family gathered as Abi and Matt exchanged vows in one of Savannah’s most recognizable spots, with the energy of the city quietly humming around them. Forsyth Park ceremonies always feel a little magical—with their dappled light, and open environment.
Cruising Through Savannah Squares in Style
After the ceremony, we moved through Pulaski Square and Baldwin Park for portraits, leaning into the city’s natural rhythm. Callan’s Classics provided a vintage car, a 1953 Packard 200 convertible named "Eileen", that added just the right amount of old-school flair, giving the photos a timeless-but-cool feel.
The wedding party even made a stop at Pinkie Masters—one of Savannah’s most legendary landmarks—for a quick drink before heading to the reception. It was relaxed, celebratory, and exactly the kind of moment that makes Savannah weddings so fun to document.
A David Bowie–Inspired Reception at Soho South
The night continued at Soho South, where Abi and Matt leaned fully into a David Bowie–inspired reception. The space transformed into something bold, flashy, and undeniably fun. Guests showed up dressed to the nines in expressive, fashion-forward looks—it truly felt like a night at Warhol’s Factory, but Southern.
Some of the most memorable details came straight from the couple’s personalities. Friends of the groom made it rain with fake money printed with Matt’s face—an inside joke nodding to his nickname, “Matt Money.” Abi’s favorite sweets from Auspicious Baking Company were served, adding a personal and playful touch to the dessert spread. Kermit and Miss Piggy, who are basically the couple's alter ego were the cake topper.
The energy stayed high all night. The dance floor was packed, the outfits were unforgettable, and the joy felt contagious. It was the kind of reception where everyone leaned in fully—no holding back, no playing it safe.
A Savannah Wedding That Felt Like Art
Abi and Matt’s wedding was a reminder that Savannah is an incredible place for couples who want their wedding to feel creative, expressive, and alive. Between the fashion, the city, and the people who showed up ready to celebrate, the entire day felt like a living piece of art.
Thank you, Abi and Matt, for trusting me to document your wedding day. It was an absolute joy to witness and capture a celebration that felt so authentically you.
If you’re planning a Savannah wedding and want photos that reflect your style, your people, and the energy of the day as it actually felt—I’d love to be there.
